After announcing their administration in April, fashion label Aquascutum has been saved and sold for a staggering £15 million to YGM Trading Limited.

All of the UK stores, head office operations and concessions have been sold as part of the deal with the Hong Kong company and more than 100 jobs have been saved.

Geoff Rowley, Joint Administrator at FRP Advisory, said: “We are delighted to announce the sale of Aquascutum, safeguarding the jobs of over 100 employees and the presence of the iconic Aquascutum brand in the United Kingdom. We hope that under new ownership the Aquascutum brand and business will have the best opportunity of success and growth both in the UK and worldwide.”

Kim Winser, Chief Executive Officer of Aquascutum under its Japanese parent Renown, said: “This is a serious trophy asset for YGM, a phenomenal purchase. With China the next strong buyers of luxury and fashion it is no secret that “the Chinese want to have ownership of those brand names.”

This is certainly time to celebrate for Aquascutum which was established way back in 1851 on London’s Regent Street.
