Graduation Ball Style: Rebecca from StyleClone Graduates in Style!
On Thursday the 18th of July I officially graduated from the University of Surrey with a BA Honours Degree in English Literature with Creative Writing. On this day I was accompanied by a mixture of thoughts and feelings whizzing round my head, ranging from the serious: “what am I going to do with my life now?” to the traumatic: “please don’t trip when you meet the Duke of Kent” and of course the overriding euphoric feeling of: “you did it!”
Once this day was over (I didn’t trip by the way) and I had my fill of the complimentary Pimms and my face ached from the constantly flashing camera wielded by my doting mother, thoughts turned to the exciting evening lying ahead on the Friday night: Graduation Ball. The night promised fairground rides, a chocolate fountain, a DJ set from Jaguar Skills, and, of course, an impressive array of dresses.
Now, I’ve lived in a flat with three lovely and clothes obsessed ladies for the past year, and our Graduation Ball outfits had been a hot topic for discussion for a very long time. I opted for a classic LBD in the dipped hem style with lace on the top. It was floaty enough for the hot weather and dressy enough for the evening.
For a bit of colour against the black dress I chose coral and gold colours to compliment as well as stand out against the dress. I had embellished earrings, a boxy clutch bag, and upper arm bangle and a collection of gold, black and peachy rings. I also had coral nail varnish and lipstick. For the shoes I chose some chunky, heeled black sandals to offset the girly-ness of the dress.

The night itself was so much fun and an incredible way to end University in style with some of the best people I’ve ever met. Oh don’t make me get all emotional again…
Thank you everyone I’ve met along the way for making it an incredible experience and farewell University of Surrey!
