Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress Cost £40,000…More Costs Revealed
Kate Middleton’s wedding dress has been hitting the headlines since the Royal engagement last year. Although everything had remained tight lipped regarding the wedding dress until the big day, it didn’t stop us in the fashion world speculating who would be designing the dress and what it would look like.
Well, all was revealed on Friday and the breathtaking dress worn by Kate Middleton was definitely worth the wait. A simple, classic gown with intricate detailing, set off with a chic chiffon veil and a stunning train was the look Kate chose to wear. The dress had a elegant v style neckline with full length sleeves and a sleek A-line skirt. Lace detailing was key, with feminine applique flowers adorning Kate’s arms and shoulders.
Apart from the wedding dress itself, one thing which I know everyone wants to know is how much the dress cost. Well, it has been revealed that the bridal gown designed by Sarah Burton, the chief designer for Alexander McQueen cost Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael a staggering £40,000.
However, it wasn’t only Kate that got the attention on the big day. Her younger sister Pippa Middleton always acquired a large number of adorning fans for her gorgeous Alexander McQueen maid of honour dress. It looked gorgeous around her slim and delicate frame. However with style comes a price and the Middleton’s forked out a staggering £20,000 for Pippa’s dress. Half of what they paid for with Kate. Also, mother to Kate, Carole Middleton’s outfit by Catherine Walker cost £10,000.
