Hailee Steinfeld is replaced as the face of Miu Miu
True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld had an opportunity that most 14 year olds would dream of, when she was recruited as the face of designer brand, Miu Miu. The Oscar nominated actress was suddenly propelled into the fashion lime-light, appearing on red carpets look fabulous, and who could forget that fairytale Oscars dress?
Her Fall/Winter 2011 campaign for Miu Miu saw the young actress posing in a variety of glamorous settings, photographed by Bruce Weber. She appeared much older than her mere 14 years posing delicately on a staircase surrounded by shoes and even risking her life for fashion by sitting on the side of a train track.
However, it has turned out to be a short lived dream for young Hailee who has recently learnt the wicked ways of the fashion industry after she was replaced as the face of Miu Miu by 34 year old Guinevere Van Seenus.
The designer came under slight fire when they revealed Hailee as the new face of their campaign due to many people believing the actress to be too young for such a job. However, the designer brand has hired Guinevere Van Seenus for their Resort 2012 campaign, who is more than twice Seinfeld’s age and therefore shouldn’t be too controversial.
Guinevere’s campaign sees the model in a gorgeous black lace dress with heavy accessorizing and a candy floss Pink handbag. The model looks particularly striking in the campaign image, shot by photographer David Sims.
