Spring/Summer 2011: Hair Styles Hot Off The Catwalk
Want to know how to style your hair now that the Summer months are creeping in? Stuck for hair-spiration? Look no further. Here at Style Clone we have compiled some of the best hair styles sported on the Spring/Summer 2011 catwalks, so finding the right style for your hair length and colour should be a doddle! Â Summer is all about being cool in the heat, so we’ve picked out some of the easiest up dos to keep the hair off your face, but if sleek and simple isn’t your thing, we’ve found some beach waves to die for!
Teased & Textured
If high maintenance hair just isn’t your thing, then these styles are perfect for you. Texture is key, so think backcombed, messy styles and ‘straight out of bed’ up dos. Hair is tied up in loose sections, and fly away ends are pinned in place at random. Pull sections out  with a fine comb to add more dimension. Use products such as hairsprays and texturising pastes to create this look, but keep it to a minimum to keep this looking natural. This is great holiday hair to keep it off the face in the heat, or perfect for a lazy day when little effort is needed.
Sleek & Sophisticated
The ultimate in chic and simple, the slicked back bun adds class and sophistication to any look. Perfect for longer hair, this dramatic, glossy style is easy to achieve yet has maximum impact. Use products such as glosses or serums to smooth hair back into a tight pony tail, then wrap round and secure with pins to create a simple bun shape.
Beach Waves
One of the most popular summer hair styles is always the beach wave. Think California cool, this is the perfect way to emulate those natural holiday curls without the sea and the salt. If you have naturally wavy hair, simple brush your fingers through and spritz with a fixing spray to keep the style in tact. If not, then use curling tongues or straighteners to create lose curls a few inches down from the root. Gently tease out with your fingers and again, spritz with a fixing liquid hairspray to set the look. Don’t worry if your curls are dropping out! This look is all about being natural.
Knots & Plaits
Finally, a trend all over the Spring/Summer catwalks was the plait. From french to woven, any style you could possibly imagine was on the runway. For a classy take on the style, sleek your hair back into a pont tail in line with the ears. Separate the hair into two, and twist each section. Twist these two sections over each other as far as you can go, then secure the end with a thin band. Pull this up to meet the base of the ponytail, and secure underneath with grips. For a more traditional, laid back style, simply separate the hair into three,  plait the sections from the neck down, and fasten with a band at the bottom.
How will you be wearing your hair this Summer?
