Street Style: Leopard Print As Sported By Samantha
Leopard print is one of those things that comes around year after year, that I never seem to be able to pull off, so when I see someone that does it well, it gives me hope that I can succeed! I always feel like I will look something of a 90s throwback or Bet Lynch wannabe, so I’m always thinking of ways to wear it to avoid the two. I spotted Samantha wearing a gorgeous leopard print top in a lovely shade of lilac, teamed with some lovely simple seperates. The reason I love this so much is because its not your usual animal print colour, yet it is subtle and easy to wear.
Samantha wears a top by H&M, Trousers by Primark and Sandals from Dorothy Perkins.
To recreate Samantha’s look, you will need some tapered black trousers, and a simple black cardigan. Go for a funky leopard print top, preferably not your usual leopard colours ( I struggled finding one for this look, so found this great sheer Topshop one with a very fine print!). Add on a simple black belt with gold animal detail, and some gladiator sandals to make the look more casual. Finish off with a tan Cross Body Bag to again, tone the look down for daytime.
For more of an evening twist on the leopard print trend, go for a dress instead of a top. I found this really unusual mini dress with a tribal style leopard print, but again, any colour will work for this. Team it with a blazer jacket to smarten the look up, and add on some edgy shoe boots to balance out the black. To break up the colours, go for a clutch in a statement shade. In this case, I’ve gone for mustard yellow and then added some colourful bangles that carry the shade through. This look is perfect for a night out , but add on some black opaques, swap the yellow for black and swap the bangles for chic pearls or delicate jewels and the look would be great for the office!
