folliefollieThe other night I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Folli Follie Leeds store launch. It was an exciting night with champagne flowing, canapes in abundance and even a stylist on hand to advise on jewellery selection.

The store has been open for around two weeks, nestled in the heart of the Victoria Quarter. Established in Athens in 1982, Folli Follie is present in over 25 countries worldwide but this is the first store to be opened outside the M25 corridor. A bright and eye captivating space running over two storeys, the Leeds shop continues Folli Follie’s ethos of “affordable, fashionable luxury” up North.

The Spring/Summer ’09 collection includes an Alice in Wonderland inspired line. Bags have bold but simple outline sketch prints with playing cards, cheshire like cats and clocks subtly embedded within. There are also statement rings in the form of lightly jewelled rabbits and cats curled around the ring shape.

The brand’s Autumn/Winter range will be released around September/October and if the Spring/Summer range is anything to go by then it is worth checking out. As a student, it is perhaps not a brand I would normally choose to indulge in but a necklace or ring from their ranges would definitely make an excellent 21st Birthday present to give or to receive! As for the rest of you cool, young professionals the brand’s watches are worth taking a look at as they are luxurious yet fun and playful.
