The Brit Awards 2010: Red carpet fashion
Most of the nation was glued to their television screens to witness the performances, the outrage and the winners and losers at this years Brit awards but we were more interested in what everyone was wearing and boy were there some interesting looks going on.
You would be lying if you said you weren’t interested to see what wacky garment Lady GaGa would be sporting and of course it was more outrageous than ever, as she glided down the red carpet in an outfit that resembled a circus tent, which surprisingly didn’t reveal much flesh, accompanied by a Marie Antoinette inspired wig and mask.
Lily Allen arrived at the ceremony in a floor length, superhero inspired Chanel dress which she described as being “not very comfortable.” As she took to the stage to collect her award, Lily Allen had somewhat of a costume change and wore a bright yellow wig. “I thought it would be hard for the camera men to find me to catch my disappointed face,” she joked.
Known for being the ‘good girl’ of music, Leona Lewis showed up at the awards ceremony in a slightly edgier outfit than usual. She teamed an aluminium coloured William Tempest off the shoulder dress with Stella McCartney pink heels and a studded Alexis Bittar cuff and although she looked rather glamorous, the outfit gave the often sweet singer a rather hard-faced look.
The flaming hot singer Florence Welch sparkled at the ceremony in a bandeau mini dress, encrusted with thousands of sequins. But that wasn’t her only outfit of the night, she also wore a black vintage Alexander McQueen gown to collect her award.
The Brit awards have been notorious in the past for the amount of fashion mistakes that have been seen on the red carpet, but this year’s ceremony was a relative success with only a few fashion faux-pas that will be quickly swept under the carpet.
