Cara Delevingne Statement Eyebrows Hit The Big Screen
She may have already graced runways and billboards the world over, but now British model of the moment Cara Delevigne is set to flex her acting muscles in a new film from Fendi.
Her face and perhaps more famously, her enviable statement eyebrows have not only appeared almost everywhere in the past few months but have inspired a generation of lookalikes all trying to capture her effortlessly cool style. This time however, it’s not her fashion prowess that is to be captured but her acting skills.
September the 11th will see the debut of a Karl Lagerfeld directed 7 minute long film fronted by the Italian fashion house. The film stars Delevinge alongside fellow model Saskia de Brauw and fashion powerhouse Lady Amanda Harlech, a personal friend of Lagerfeld. The plot follows the models as they arrive for a formal dinner at a mansion which turns out to be owned by the ever formidable Harlech.
This is not the first time we have seen top models turning to acting, with former Victorias Secret Angel, Devon born Rosie Huntington Whitely staring in the Transformers films. English rose Lily Cole also turned to acting when she appeared in films such as 2009 film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and more recently Snow White and the Huntsman alongside Kristen Stewart. Even international supermodel and host of Americas Next Top Model Tyra Banks has turned her hand to acting appearing in Coyote Ugly in 2000.
From the films short teaser trailer Delevigne is shown in complete contrast to her usually confident street smart self and is instead shown looking vulnerable, wide eyed and altogether a little terrified. Since starting in Joe Wrights 2012 adaptation of Anna Karenina alongside Keira Knightley it’s clear to see the models determination to break onto the big screen.
