Steal her Style: Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo, American model and socialite, wore this outfit to Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, and actually won the position of best dressed in a StyleClone piece about the event. Read on to see how to steal her style.

Olivia Palermo is one of my favourite fashion icons of the moment. At every event she always looks chic and beautiful, as well as having a more directional dress sense. She has an unfussy cool about her, and everything she throws on together somehow just works; whether she’s clashing prints or layering shirts under dresses she has the magic touch to make it all come together.

This look is all about the iridescent silver skirt which peeks out playfully from underneath the smart, grown-up look of the white long line blazer. This clashing of ideas (smart and playful) is what gives Olivia such a unique look. She accentuates the skirts tones without going overboard using silver toned jewellery (a jewelled Perspex cuff and embellished chunky bracelet) and a subtly embellished belt (jewels set on a clear background).

She wears her hair in a relaxed up-do with centre parting so it doesn’t interfere with the crisp lines of the jacket. She carries a simple white clutch in-keeping with the tones of the outfit, but then adds a black, pointed stiletto to break things up and keep it unfussy. By rolling up her sleeves she again takes away from the primness of the outfit as well as showing off her bracelets.

Here are my outfit picks to steal Olivia’s style:

The silver skirt is from Topshop and has a beautiful shimmer which will catch the light and look beautiful against the white of the blazer, which is from Mango. Mango are a go to retailer for classic tailoring kept modern and up to date; their designs are always classic and feminine.

The plain silver cuff, also from Mango will go on the other wrist, and again adds to that mismatched playful side of the outfit, whilst still keeping it sophisticated.

The finishing touches are this structured clutch from ASOS, keeping it simple, and these black, pointed courts from Office. Add some nail varnish in a cherry red to add a pop of colour and you’re ready to go!
