Kate Middleton’s Royal baby is yet to be born, however the Royal baby hysteria seems to be in full swing with exhibitions, merchandise and novelty hats…

Kate Middleton’s Royal baby has been the talk of literally everyone since the announcement of her pregnancy. From being glued to reports of how she’s coping with morning sickness to potential baby names, I think it’s safe to say that the Royal baby has caused mass pandemonium and it’s only just beginning!

A Royal Baby Exhibition

Although her due date is mid-July, her baby has already inspired an exhibition. An embroidered skullcap worn by Charles I, a linen vest belonging to George III, or baby shoes worn by Queen Victoria’s children (shown above) are among the many gems displayed at The Museum of London until October. We all love our daily dose of celebrity fashion so why not include something more historical? Although, this time it’s all things baby!

The baby fever doesn’t stop there. Recently, at the Royal Ascot, a race-goer by the name of Gabriele Dirvanauskas, wore a cake-shaped hat dedicated to Kate’s expected little one. A gold rattle, bottle, comb, crown and a betting card to symbolize the nation’s gender predictions certainly gave other grand hats a run for their money.

It’s no surprise that the Royal baby is expected to generate £260 million worldwide. Dedicated merchandise is flying off the racks around the globe, especially in New York’s prestigious Barneys department store, where Royal baby blankets and baskets are being sold. For those who are a bit more obsessed than others, a “royal baby-watcher” denim tote bag can even be purchased to parade around.

The fashion of Kate Middleton during her pregnancy has been exquisite too. The media cannot get enough of Kate’s style which gives maternity wear a whole new meaning. Kate is known for her classic, subtle outfits, almost the opposite of the late Diana. In spite of this, Kate’s recent outfits have been unquestionable. Take her dusty pink Alexander McQueen coat at the Horse Guard’s Parade or her leopard print Hobbs shift dress at the Royal Princess cruise ship-naming ceremony. No matter where she is, Kate has become a style icon for her continual effortless and elegant outfits that make pregnancy look like an ongoing fashion event.
