It has been announced that model, Alice Dellal, who is best known for her boyish style and shaven hair, is to appear as the new face of Chanel’s ‘Boy’ handbag collection.

She might not be the usual choice for the demure fashion house, Chanel, but she’s perfect for their new handbag collection. In a statement, a Chanel spokesperson said: “This previously unforeseen alliance finally became self-evident. Alice Dellal represents the perfect incarnation of all that is unique about the Boy Chanel handbag collection, which strives [to be] far from conformist notions of femininity.”

She might be an unconvential muse for the designer, but her ‘punk’ style and fiery attitude have secured her the modelling gig and a behind-the-scenes image of Dellal has already leaked. The image sees the model sitting atop an ornate desk, holding a grey quilted handbag from the new Boy collection. In the photo she wears a white Chanel ensemble, complete with frills and bows, but she maintains her individual style with dark lips and eye make-up.

The advertising campaign will be launched in March 2012.
