Illamasqua ‘Born Again’ Starring BAFTA Winner Vicky McClure
Popular make-up brand Illamasqua’s new ‘Born Again’ film clip features BAFTA award winner Vicky McClure as a beautiful young woman on a journey that will define who she will be for the rest of her life. Like the brand itself, the film is rather edgy as the young woman chases the sunset, seeking an inner peace that has so far eluded her. We see it in her vibrantly coloured eyes and read it on her vividly painted lips – how this search for her true self has taken her to the edge of reason and sanity and ended in the ultimate act of sacrifice and commitment. Only here, at journey’s end, does she realise:

Illamasqua pride themselves on doing things differently which is why this promotional clip works so well at capturing your attention. ‘Born Again’ is about releasing your alter ego, being creative, different and beautiful.
BAFTA award winner Vicky McClure is best known for her role in ‘This Is England’ and subsequent TV series ‘This Is England ’86’ which were both a significant insight into 1980’s youth culture. Vicky played the skin headed Lol, a feisty and confident young teenager who represents Illamasqua’s brand perfectly.
Talking of her choice to cast Vicky in the role, Illamasqua founder and Joint MD Julian Kynaston said: “Vicky McClure’s roles have always engaged me. As an actress I think she is simply awesome. Her portrayal of Lol in Shane Meadows This Is England is stunning. Playing a skinhead in the role Vicky stands for the beliefs of the original skinhead culture and is disgusted by the new wave of racism that is sweeping the country and dividing her gang. We loved the way Vicky acted a role that smashed these pre conceptions. For that she is our muse.”
