Kanye West to Design a Range of Stilettos
As if being one of the biggest rap stars in the world wasn’t a tough enough job, it seems Kanye West’s heart also lies in fashion.
Earlier in the year it was rumoured that Kanye would be attending London’s Central Saint Martin’s College as a fashion student. These rumours did turn out to be false but the rapper went on to design a range of silk scarves, inspired by his ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ album and following that, it was revealed that he would be releasing a Spring 2012 collection.
Now it has been revealed that Kanye is working on a women’s range of footwear with help from renowned shoe designer Guiseppe Zanotti.
Kanye already has footwear experience after collaborating with Louis Vuitton on a range of sneakers and has been quietly working away on a line of stiletto heels for the ladies that he loves so much.
Women’s Wear Daily revealed the news, quoting Zanotti as saying: “Kanye is always here in my factory. In the last three years, he has come here maybe every month and worked with the employees 10 to 12 hours a day,” said Zanotti, “[Kanye] loves learning about shoes, both the design and construction, and we’ve tried to design something together.”
