Kate Middleton spotted in the Buckingham Palace State Rooms wearing Joseph dress: Get her look!
Things have been a bit quiet on the Royal Couple front since the pair got back from their tour of Canada. Quite understandably, the couple probably wanted a bit of time away from the cameras to move into their new Kensington place in peace.
However, Kate stepped into the limelight once again on Friday 22nd alongside Her Majesty the Queen in order to view her Alexander McQueen wedding dress which is now on view at the Palace’s annual Summer exhibition. The dress appears on show in the middle of one of the Palace’s state rooms, as a shining beacon complete with veil. When viewing the dress, the Queen was overheard expressing her distaste at the dress due to it being presented on a headless mannequin that she thought made the whole thing look “horrid and very creepy.”
Despite the Queen’s opinion, an estimated 600,000 people are set to pay £17.50 to have a close up view of the dress. Visitors are able to see the dress in all of it’s exquisite glory as well as being able to see the Duchess’ 1936 Cartier Tiara, the couple’s wedding cake, kate’s shoes, earrings and bouquet. It is said that the top three layers of the wedding cake are infact replicas as the couple have saved the originals for their first child’s christening, as tradition dictates.
Of course, Kate looked every inch the gorgeous Princess in a rose coloured 3/4 sleeved Joseph dress with matching Jimmy Choo pumps. She also wore a silver pendant necklace and silver earrings.
The Royal Wedding Dress: A Story of Great British Design exhibition will run until October 3rd 2011 at Buckingham Palace. Tickets are priced at £17.50 and are available from RoyalCollection.org.uk.
