Kate Spade Bringing First Store to UK!

Convent Garden pop-up store last October.

We here at StyleClone were really rather delighted to hear that quirky, New York designer Kate Spade is bringing her first permanent store to the UK. Making its way into Sloane Square this September, the 4000-foot unit is to be decked out in retro interior decor with walls of handbags and shoes and showcasing the prim designs that have made the brand such a huge hit across the pond.

Popular with the likes of Zooey Deschanel, Sienna Miller and Jayma Mays, the feminine and colourful brand will surely lure the shoppers in with their wide range of ready-to-wear, accessories and home pieces. After having a sneaky peak at the A/W ’11 collection, we can expect loud, floral prints, technicolour pinstripes and polkadots galore – all deliciously girly, with a nod to the 1950s era.

The brand did enjoy a highly successful stint last October in a pop-up store at Convent Garden, and this permanent position is said to have been in the pipelines for a while, acting as the flagship store for Europe.

And that’s not all… when the doors are finally flung open to the adoring public, another new treat lays ahead. The brand have teamed up with Lipstick Queen founder Poppy King, and are set to release their first capsule collection of a lipstick/lipgloss hybrid in four, cute-as-a-button colours. Selling for around £15 each, and all with decidedly kooky names (“Supercalifragilipstick”, anyone?), they’re bound to be a hit for the Kate Spade fans out there.

Excited? So you should be!
