Gwen Stefani to launch Harajuku Mini range in collaboration with Target

Not only is Gwen Stefani one of the biggest rock chicks around, but she’s also a successful solo artist as well as fashion designer. Her fashion lines from L.A.M.B and Harajuku Lovers have gone from strength to strength over the years and now the fashion designer is branching out on a brand new range of Harajuku clothing…for babies, children and pre-teens.

As a mother to Kingston and Zuma, Gwen has a never-ending knowledge of her target market so it seems only right for her to create a child fashion line. Her own children are some of the most fashionable celebrity kids around, which is of course, thanks to their mothers own daring dress sense.

The new children’s range will be titled Harajuku Mini and will be available in Target stores across the US and Online, from November 13th 2011 with a second installment in January 2012. Prices will range from $3.99 to $29.99.

Speaking to WWD, Stefani said: “I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the supercute and playful kid’s clothing you find in Japan. Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid’s clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices.”

The collaboration will bring Stefani’s unique designs to a wider audience at more affordable prices and could lead to other branches of her Harajuku Lovers line collaborating with and being available in more affordable retailers in the future. Fingers crossed!
