Highstreet retailer H&M have recently announced that they are to team up with cult shoe label Swedish Hasbeens and bring the label’s signature wooden-soled style to the rest of the world.

The collection will be available in 150 stores worldwide from April 20th 2011. There are three styles of wooden-soled clogs made exclusively for H&M, inspired by the traditional Swedish styles of the ’70s and made using handcrafted methods and environmentally friendly materials.

Swedish Hasbeen have created three different wooden-soled styles for H&M which are going to be huge for Spring 2011. First up is a gladiator style strappy sandal with wooden wedge and three buckle ankle straps. This will be available in cream and tan with a pale wooden wedge or black on a black base.

The heeled summer sandal with ankle strap comes in cream and red on a pale wooden sole and is perfect for partying the night away, while the peep toe slip-on wedge includes a snake effect leather. The shoes will be available in sizes 36-40 and cost €49,95 or €59,95.

“I love the genuine feeling you get from Hasbeens, from the wood and the leather, and also how they take something traditional and Swedish and make it contemporary and modern. These Hasbeens for H&M fit perfectly with the ’70s bohemian look that’s so important this coming season,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s head of design.
