Street Style: Channel The Tribal Trend Like Katherine

Ethnic inspired fashion has been gracing the Spring Summer catwalks for a few years now, but this year has really seen the Tribal trend take off. Thanks to our four fabulous Sex And The City girls, Aztec prints and Arabian-esque fabrics have never been so big. Think maxi dresses, colourful chiffon, jewelled sandals and harem trousers and you’re on the right track.

Katherine shows us her take on the Tribal trend, creating a casual look with funky accessories. I love how she has teamed black with a bright feather print top and statement jewellery.

Katherine’s outfit is from Warehouse.

To recreate Katherine’s look, go for block coloured bottoms and a jacket, so in this case, some long ankle length leggings and an edgy biker jacket in black. Add a tunic or over-sized vest with a colourful tribal print, and accessorise with ethnic inspired accessories such as leather gladiators with mock crocodile skin or woven straps, and a cross body  bag with tassels or fringing. Finish off the look with a chunky statement necklace in wood for a natural, subtle look or gold for a dash of sparkle.

To take this look into night, swap the tunic and leggings for an Aztec print playsuit or dress. Opt for some statement heels again with tribal inspired detailing and go for a chunky statement clutch. Keep the biker jacket to toughen the whole look up, and stack chunky wooden bangles onto both arms for a striking statement look. Wear with gently tousled flowing locks or a funky up do to keep with the theme.

Another variation on the look would be to wear a tribal print maxi dress. Again, accessorise in the same way, keeping everything else simple in block colours and statement shapes. If the tribal trend is good enough for Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte, then it is definitely a winner for us!
