Iconic British supermodel, Kate Moss, is to pose for the cover of Playboy’s 60th Anniversary Issue, which also ties in with her 40th birthday, just a month after the copy will hit the shops.

Hugh Hefner said: ‘She’s a worldwide celebrity and iconic and crosses the boundaries from sexual imagery to upscale modelling. It’s a natural for us.’

Playboy’s editorial director added to this statement, saying: ‘This is a massive global brand. You need a global icon in order to celebrate that — that was the impetus. Other high profile covers have included:

The blonde bombshell appeared on the very first edition of Playboy in 1953, looking as timelessly beautiful as ever and going down in history.

Sharon Stone

The Basic Instinct actress posed seductively on the cover with ice cubes and a cheeky bit of cleavage.

Marge Simpson

Marge Simpson went down in history as the first cartoon character to appear on the front cover of the men’s magazine.

Kim Kardashian

At the start of her burgeoning career, Kim Kardashian posed for the magazine, claiming it was so women could see what a real body looked like. Her bank account probably thanked her too, as did the fame that closely followed…
