The Twilight actress, Kristen Stewart is said to have enrolled at the University of California (UCLA) for a course in English Literature.

Although these reports are yet to be confirmed, it is presumed that Kristen will undergo her cause through a distance-learning method. This would mean studying with a more flexible schedule so she can fit her education in with her filming.

“She is already considering a life after film. She never got to complete college and she wants to get a proper education,” said a source. “She is a voracious reader and cannot wait to get going on her correspondence course. It won’t be easy and it will mean putting in some fairly strenuous hours. But once she’s graduated, Kristen will be able to do almost anything she wants, in or out of Hollywood.”

Because of Kristen’s hectic career, it’s understandable that she stopped focusing on her education for other ventures. After all, she landed her first film role at the age of 8, starring in Panic Room. Then, after she turned 18, she was given a role in Twilight and everything blew up for her after that. However, I admire the fact that the 23-year-old wants to continue her educational route and considers it to be a priority. She clearly has so many young fans around the world and perhaps this move is positive for them too, considering she is quite a big role model to many.

Kristen isn’t the only celebrity to have decided to go back to university after they have such huge success in Hollywood. Tyra Banks proudly makes sure everyone knows that she graduated from Harvard Business School on America’s Next Top Model to ensure that the contestants don’t think that they have to give up their education too. Although her claims are a bit… questionable, she did in fact attend Harvard to complete classes for an Owner/President Management extension programme and not their degree programme.

“My most difficult class at Harvard Business School would have to be finance,” she replied. “For the first 30 minutes of the class, I’m raising my hand, I’m all into it, ‘cause it’s kind of like theory and just like, the social part of the case. The last hour it’s all like Einstein and algebraic equations and craziness.”

Well, regardless of which course she did, I think it’s great that she decided to enter the route of education again and continue with her business pursuits in life.

Model, Lily Cole also collected a double first class honours from Cambridge University for a degree in History of Art back in 2011. That’s the highest possible honour to receive from the prestigious university.

“Lily is really pleased with her result and has been smiling ever since she heard the news,” said a student at the university. “Not many students get double firsts and she has done exceptionally well as she had a huge work load outside university too.”

If that wasn’t enough, she recently received an honorary degree at Glasgow Caledonian University for her outstanding contribution to humanitarian and environmental causes!

It seems that this might be the new trend for all these high-profile celebs. Move over Hermès, a degree is now the best accessory!
