The 41-year-old actress, Jennifer Garner is the latest celebrity to star in a major fashion campaign. This time, Max Mara decided that the stylish actress would be the perfect pick for their Autumn/Winter 2013 campaign.

Although campaigns may be the regular for some stars, this time round, this Max Mara campaign means a lot more than appearing in a couple of magazines and billboards. This is the first time that Max Mara has appointed a celebrity star as the face of their brand. Clearly, being chosen as the first star for any brand would be a major privilege but for Max Mara, that’s a huge one to tell the grandchildren.

Garner will front the new Max Mara handbag line and specifically, the J bag. A timeless, elegant bag that can be carried by a diverse range of women.

“Jennifer Garner is a real woman, not a cover girl, not a starlet,” Luigi Maramotti, chairman of the brand, told WWD. It seems to me that many fashion brands are looking for faces that their audiences can identify with. Take Nicole Kidman’s recent stint at Jimmy Choo, for example. Although she’s gorgeous, she also has four children. So the fact that Garner has three children and still manages to be a successful actress… well that’s definitely aspirational for women who buy Max Mara products right?

Garner has also commented that she embodies the brand and has taken great pleasure in representing it. “Max Mara is perfect for my lifestyle,” she said. “The brand possesses a classic, timeless elegance and a quality of craftsmanship that is lux and yet so easy to wear.”
