AMC’s hit TV show ‘Mad Men’ has struck a chord with a nation of television and fashion lovers so we were extactic when Banana Republic announced that they would be releasing a limited edition collection based on the show.

Set in the 1960’s, it was clear that Mad Men was going to be not just a popular series, but a fashion hit. Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant has managed to make 1960’s fashion popular again and she even leant her hand to the designing of the exclusive Banana Republic collection.

Launching today (August 11th), the capsule collection is an ode to high tailoring, chic and fitting 60’s styles ranging from $40 to $250. The 65 piece collection consists of casual and dressy pieces for men and women that can be worn day to day as well as in an office or other formal environment. Key pieces include a classic trench coat, high waisted skirts and tailored dresses as well as an array of accessories such as silk scarves, wallets, belts and hats.

Men can expect luxurious sweaters, dinner jackets, waistcoats and formal trousers as well as silk ties, sunglasses and fedora style hats. As mentioned, the collection hits stores on August 11th where potential buyers can attend a Mad Men style cocktail party to celebrate the new range at the downtown and Bellevue Square Banana Republic locations.

We can’t wait to get our hands on this collection!
