Blogger Style: Winnie From ‘Diamond Canopy’

Meet Winnie, a 24 year old Fashion Blogger from the Midlands, UK. Winnie writes her blog ‘Diamond Canopy‘, an online diary compiling some of her lovely outfits and day to day life. She enjoys ‘flicking through Japanese fashion magazines, the smell of brand new books, eating out, traveling to new places but also returning to old places’. Winnie’s style is what I’d describe as laid back and on trend, but with individual additions and feminine accessories.

She has challenged me to recreate an outfit that she posted recently here. I love the simple colour palette of black and beige, and how she has added interest with the snood and the layers. A really lovely look that would be great for any occasion. Easy to wear, yet elegant in style.

Winnie wears a black blouse by H&M, over a striped shirt by Topshop, a skirt and scarf also by Topshop, and boots by Blowfish.

To recreate this look, start of with a neutral toned striped top or shirt. Over this, layer a sheer black blouse so that the print can still be seen through the material. Tuck these both into a cream or beige mini skirt with layers and ruffles for volume. If you can’t get one like Winnie’s that has a black ribbon tie, then simply add on a black belt with bow detail, or tie a length of ribbon round the waistband for a similar effect. Add on some opaque black tights and some flat ankle boots, and finish off with a cosy snood or scarf. Hey presto, the perfect look for the transition from Winter to Spring!

If you like this look and want to see more of Winnie’s style, be sure to check out her blog, Diamond Canopy!
