Nina Ricci Fall 2011 Collection at Paris Fashion Week
The female friendly and romantic Nina Ricci Fall 2011 took place yesterday at Paris Fashion Week, and what a glamorous and lady-like affair it was.
The run-way was transformed into a gravel pathway complete with shimmering tea lights and white carpet, setting the tone for the elegance that was to come. Gorgeous, sophisticated silhouettes and lots of delicate detailing made for a specifically feminine collection.
We saw lots of tailoring and corsetry detailing as well as crystal embellishment, waist-cinching dresses and the odd hints of lace and lingerie. The colour palette was quite varied, with brightly coloured dresses alongside deep wine and plum colours and of course, a huge use of black.
Oversized wrap coats in green velvet were described as ‘bathrobe like,’ and the grandpa inspired cardigans looked good enough to snuggle into right there and then. Models wore jewelled headbands and gem encrusted necklaces to give a little sparkle to the proceedings, and all in all, the collection went down as a huge success, with many of the pieces being extremely wearable, and something we’d definitely see on our own British highstreet.
