Last week we brought you the news that author Lauren Weisberger was penning a sequel to the popular book and film The Devil Wears Prada.

While the sequel is still in the process of being written, the rumour mill has been rife with tales of a sequel the movie as well. Fashion fans around the world are keen to see the stars reprise their roles and according to comments from some of the film’s stars, we could be seeing the rumours come true very soon.

Meryl Streep, who played the vicious Miranda Priestly, has recently commented on the news, saying she might be up for reprising her role, but would “have to lose the f***ing weight”.

Brit actress Emily Blunt has also let slip that she might be up for reprising her role as Miranda’s assistant emily. She said: “I feel the same as her and yes I think I would do it. We all were told to go on these skinny diets for the first time, but I’d be up for it.”

The sequel to the first novel will detail main character Andy Sachs’ journey since her departure from Runway magazine to top editor of a US bridal magazine. Of course, she is bound to bump into the Devil once again on her journey.

Fans of the original book/film are delighted that two of it’s biggest characters are happy to take on their fashion alter-egos again, now we just need Anne Hathaway to agree as well!
