Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Fall 2011 Collection at Paris Fashion Week
Vivienne Westwood’s shows are always a huge talking point at any fashion event. At Paris Fashion Week she unveiled a ‘Woman as Warrior’ themed catwalk show.
“I can’t keep banging on about climate change, so I decided to express my thoughts about the planet through strong women, and the fact women are the guardians of culture,” she said.
Settled comfortably on the front row was the likes of Paloma Faith and Boy George, and they, along with the rest of the crowds witnessed a glitter charged show with models taking to the run way bearing tribal markings on their faces, face masks and matted hair.
The girls were dressed in tiny denim shorts and dungaree skirts over checked shirts, slogan t-shirts with red and white stripe satin crinoline and chain-mail tunics and fake hair lined helmets.
The real show stoppers were geometric print, puff-sleeved tops which were sprouting huge ostrich feathers and ballooning black tulle skirts.
