Girl power has certainly come a long way and it’s refreshing to see that until this day successful women are using their status to help others.

Designer Donna Karan together paired with actress Sarah Brown and writer Arianna Huffington are making a movement by voicing their opinions and teachings on important everyday issues, such as childbirth deaths and the role of women in areas such as business and technology.

Reaching out to all women, these three take on the role of motivational speakers and are set to host the first annual event for women on September 20th.

As well as being an inspirational day, the event is set to include a fashion show put on by Donna Karan herself and singer Estelle will also be performing for audience members interested in the roof top performance at the top of the Skylight West venue, what a great treat.

Money raised from this enjoyable day will go to a charity Sarah is a patron of, which is the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood.  Another portion of proceeds will also aid Donna’s Urban Zen Foundation, both of which will benefit greatly from the day.

I’m sure you will agree when I say these sisters are certainly doing it for themselves.
