Alexander McQueen is a name known by everyone in the fashion industry and the designer’s legacy and vision lives on through Sarah Burton’s gorgeous designs, but it’s also being kept alive by the ‘McQ’ branch of the company, the label for a younger audience.

The likes of Emma Watson and Chloe Moretz are just two celebrities who have been spotted on the Red Carpet in McQ’s tartan dress creation from the Autumn/Winter 2011 collection.

Due to it’s success McQ has announced that it will be opening it’s first ever store in London’s West End in Spring 2012. Situated on Dover Street, Mayfair, the four-storey store will join upmarket boutiques such as ACNE. And as if that wasn’t enough, they’ve also announced that they will be showcasing their first ever catwalk at London Fashion Week in February 2012, which will be an exclusive preview to the store opening.

It’s exciting times for the fashion and purse savvy label which launched in 2006 as they’ve gone from strength to strength. Compared to the grown-up Alexander McQueen line, McQ is much more affordable with prices starting from within the hundreds instead of the thousands.
