You have all probably heard the news about chief designer of Dior, John Galliano being accused of verbally abusing a French couple last week in the bar. Well, after a video was revealed showing John Galliano making anti-Semitic remarks at the couple, actress Natalie Portman, who is currently the face for Miss Dior Cherie has strongly criticised Mr Galliano’s abuse.

Miss Portman, who is of Jewish issued a statement last week, “I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”

Since the statement, it would appear that the French label Christian Dior has fired British fashion designer John Galliano and have said that they, “firmly condemn what was said by John Galliano, which totally contradicts the values which have always been defended by Christian Dior.”

It has been revealed that the termination of his contract happened after the video showing John Gallliano spouting ‘I love Hitler’ in the Paris Bar went viral, however we’re sure that Natalie Portman statement also had something to do with it.

John Galliano is due to also design a dress for Kate Moss’s wedding in the summer, so it has not been announced whether she will be using the designer, especially after last week’s incident.

Do you think Kate should use him as a designer? Do you think John’s career is over? Leave your comments below…
