Harrods launches limited edition charity bag

Sophisticated and upmarket shopping department Harrods have launched a brand new limited edition charity bag in collaboration with the University of Westminster, with all funds going towards Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Harrods have teamed up with University of Westminster graduate Jessica Madden to launch a limited edition canvas bag that will be available Online and in store this month.

Andrew Groves, course director of the degree says; “Everyone at Westminster is very proud of Jessica and the waves she is making in the fashion world so early on in her career. Jessica’s design highlights her high level of creativity which was evident throughout her three years at Westminster.”

The BA Fashion Degree from the University of Westminster is ranked second in the UK and ninth worldwide by online fashion industry bible fashionista.com and has seen designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Christopher Baily and Michael Herz also graduate from it.

Marigay McKee, Fashion and Beauty Director at Harrods, says: “I love the concept of this project, and the attention to detail in the design makes it unique to any other charity bag I have seen before. We are thrilled to champion new talent, and Jessica’s illustration looks fabulous! It also gives us great pleasure to support such a fabulous and deserving charity like Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.”

The canvas shopper bag has a tiny polka dot lining and quirky illustration on the front. The bag will retail at £45 and is available in-store and online from Harrods.com from February 2011.
