Florals graced almost each and every catwalk for the Spring/Summer 2011, and one designer that got it oh-so-right was Erdem, seen at London Fashion Week. Each garment oozes Summer fun and the fabrics float beautifully. Here are some of our favourite pieces from the Erdem show.

Floaty Floral Dresses

Dresses are the perfect girly garment to wear with a floral print. Go for a loose fit and cinch in at the waist with a skinny belt for the ultimate in Summer chic. Style your dress up with some chunky heeled sandals and a straw floppy hat for a warm Summer’s evening, or dress down with gladiator flats and wooden bangles.

Floral Romper

The romper is the ideal outfit for lazy Summer days, whether they be at home or at the beach. We love the strapless versions as a quick beach cover up during the day, at the pretty tie strap numbers with wedges for the evening.

Floral Bikini

What suitcase would be complete with some floral swimwear? A delicate, feminine bikini with a cute floral print is the must have swimwear for this season. We can’t decide between big and beautiful blooms or pretty ditsy prints!

Want to know one of the great things about the busy world of Fashion?  It seems once one city’s fashion week ends, it’s time to get ready for the start of another city’s beginning.

Today saw the start of Australian Fashion Week in Sydney and even though the country is a 24 hour flight away, that’s certainly no reason not to get in on their Summer ready trends and celebrations of several loved fashion designers.

Australian swimwear and clothing line Zimmermann, opened the show in style and definitely set the bar for a high standard of ranges to be seen on runways for the remainder of the week, which will run until Friday May 6^th.

With a focus on silk and linen dresses, pastel and cream skirts and Capri trousers with elements of lace, diamond inserts and colour schemes of tan, white and aqua; onlookers were kept in the ‘memory of an idyllic summer day’. 

Vogue’s art director Meg Gray, was on hand to comment on the first day of Australia’s homegrown talent and expressed her love for Zimmermann’s latest creations.

 romanticism with the chantilly and cotton lace.”

Designer Nicky Zimmermann herself also commented on her collection named Halcyon Days and its ability to be ‘nostalgic without being retro or vintage’.

Australian Fashion Week will continue at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal and other off-site destinations, which include today’s luxury car showroom.

The 28 year old former pop star launched her new collection on January 28th at the Savoy Hotel, London. Wearing a navy playsuit, Geri posed alongside models wearing her creations.

The collection consists of a number of beach dresses, playsuits, bikinis and maxi dresses which have been designed by Geri for ‘real women of all shapes and sizes.’ Talking of the collection, she said: “This is a collection that makes you look good and feel fabulous. I always find it hard to find a bikini that fits me, because I have quite big breasts. There’s intelligence in the structure – there’s an architect involved in making your boobs look good, does that make sense? And the prices are reasonable, too: £38 for a bikini.”
