Speaking about his latest muse, Balenciaga Creative Director, Nicholas Ghesquière said: “Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence. From her early appearance in ‘Panic Room’ to her independent choice of ‘Welcome to the Rileys’, I’ve always sensed her progressive character. In 2006, I invited her to appear in a project shot by Bruce Weber. Since then, I’ve always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga.”

It has been said that Kristen’s “elegant modernity and innate rebel style” is the perfect match for Balenciaga, and expressing her excitement about the new collaboration, Steward herself told WWD: “Balenciaga has always stood out to me. Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognized and loved Balenciaga. It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now. The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable.”

YSL was the first company that Blunt had said ‘yes’ to, but now it seems that she’s somewhat regretting her decision.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Blunt admitted that she believed YSL had made a mistake in hiring her, saying “God, I’m so un-French in that trailer,” and when asked why she thought she was approached by the company, she put herself down further by saying; “I don’t know. I’ve no idea. Perhaps ‘there was no one else? They made a mistake, a terrible mistake.”

When asked about why she accepted the role in advertising the new fragrance, she went on to say; “I think that I’ve been wanting to make sure that when I did it, it would be the right thing. I’d been asked to do a couple of things but none were as classy as this,’ she explains before adding, ‘And I got to work with a leopard. ”

We’re not sure whether Blunt is being serious when she suggests YSL has made a mistake in casting her, could she be acting a little too cool and not bothered by the prestigious role? We certainly think that YSL made the right choice casting her, but she could be the cause of her own downfall with these comments.

Barney’s is one of the worlds most iconic department stores and they’re kicking off their exciting countdown to Christmas by allowing eccentric singer, Lady Gaga, to completely take over the fifth floor of their Madison Avenue flagship store. The entire floor has been transformed into a Lady Gaga wonderland, complete with gifts chosen by the lady herself, with a little help from the creative team.

Gaga, Nicola Formichetti and installation artists Eli Sudbrack have been working on the wonderland for a year, meaning they’ve had plenty of time to put together some completely weird and wonderful gift ideas, including Gaga-esque bow headbands, embellished chocolate skulls, Gaga snow globes and even a Christmas stocking in the shape of a claw.

Also on the floor is a jewellery boutique created from an oversized Lady Gaga-turned-spider and a boudoir in the shape of a wig. 25% of sales from the alternative Christmas gifts will be donated to the Born This Way Foundation. Those who can’t make it to the department store can get a little taste of a Gaga Christmas online as the Barney’s website is now offering a Gaga Gift every day in the days leading up to the launch on November 21st.

Launched in 1980, Children In Need have raised millions of pounds for British Children’s charities. Their mascot, Pudsey Bear, is a British institution in his own right, and this year he has been given a bit of a makeover by 12 famous fashion designers.

Erdem, Henry Holland, Katie Hillier, Mulberry, PPQ, Giles Deacon, Jonathan Saunders, Liberty and Patrick Grant have each created their own Pudsey Bear which are currently being auctioned on eBay. Gone is the traditional yellow bear, and in it’s place is suede, leather, tartan and floral versions, and they’re already fetching hundreds of pounds!

Mulberry creative director Emma Hill, gave Pudsey a brand new leather look inspired by the Mulberry brand heritage and English tradition. Made from the same Buffalo leather as the popular ‘Alexa’ handbag in a Classic Oak colour and chocolate coloured paws and mouth. The designer bear’s eyes and nose are made from the very same famous gunmetal grey rivets and his bandana is made with the tree monogram material that lines the prestigious handbags.

All of the bears starting prices are £200, but some, including the Mulberry bear, have already surpassed the target. All proceeds will be going to BBC Children In Need and every penny donated, means a penny going to various projects helping disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

This is a great way for fashion to get involved with raising money for charity, and we think Pudsey’s new makeover looks great!

Talking to WWD, TPR Holdings president Brian Robinson said: “Richie has a wide breadth of creative talents being an author, a jewelry designer, a fashion designer and an aspirational figure. Having 2.3 million Twitter followers helps her credibility in the style world, too. They look favorably on her, she’s done a great job with her image.”

Although not many details have been released so far, it’s rumoured that the star has been working extremely hard on her new fragrance. Mood boards have even been put together by the stylish Nicole in order for her to get a feel of where she see’s herself in the world of celebrity fragrances.

It may have taken five years of careful research and deliberation, but finally, the range was made available from September this year exclusively in London’s Selfridges and Topman’s Oxford Circus store, but it has now been made available nationwide, from October 10th. Working alongside fragrance guru, Azzi Glasser, the creator of the Agent Provocateur parfum, Topman have created a selection of essential core hair and body products such as hair putty, body wash, deodorant and body spray as well as two new luxurious fragrances, Eau De Parfum No. 16 & 27.

Talking of the new range, Topman’s Design Director, Gordon Richardson said: “For Topman to be taken seriously in the toiletries arena it was crucial to make sure that we were able to produce a range of grooming products that were both affordable and luxurious at the same time. A first on the High St. we weren’t interested in producing a range just for the sake of it. The two fragrances from the High Street giant will make brilliant Christmas presents for your boyfriend/brother or friend. Eau De Parum No.16 gives a sense of cool, fresh air using three key notes of Bergamot, Poivre and woody accent, all amplified by the heart and base notes of Amber, Labdanum and musks.

No.27 exudes ingredients that are addictive and distinctive, such as Wildaccord of Clarysage, Anise and Neroli along with Vetiver and Nutmeg for added tenacity. Take a whiff of the scent and you’ll also find hints of Oakmoss, Frankincense, Cedarwood and skin penetrating musks, that are bound to be a hit.

On Tuesday night Kate was spotted at the super swanky Ritz, in Paris, where she put on quite the bash to celebrate the launch of her Kate Moss for Fred jewellery range. Moss entered the party as the clock struck midnight and was accompanied by shoe designer and good friend, Christian Louboutin. The Ritz was transformed into a Medieval castle, complete with stuffed animals, candles and skeletons.

Wearing a shimmering Gold tunic and black leggings, with Louboutin Pigalle heels, Moss was joined by a flurry of big names, including Joséphine de La Baume, Ludivine Sagnier and Lou Doillon.

Kate’s jewellery collection features necklaces, rings and earrings in moon, star and anchor motifs, based on her own tattoos. The collection will be sold through Harrods in the UK with prices starting from £400 and reaching a staggering £40,000.

Now the prestigious fashion house has revealed that they are set to release a single to accompany the new campaign. At first, we wondered if we had heard the news right? Is Burberry really releasing a single?

Well, the simple answer is yes, however, they are doing so via British Indie band ‘The Feeling’, who they have worked with to create the soundtrack. The track will be an acoustic version of the band’s song ‘Rosé’ and will be released on Monday October 10th, along with an exclusive music video, all available to download via iTunes.

Burberry’s creative director, Christopher Bailey, expressed his excitement at the new venture, saying: “Music is a hugely important facet of the Burberry world and with the launch of Burberry Body we wanted to create an iconic soundtrack that reflects the sensuality and attitude of the fragrance. We worked with The Feeling, a band that I have long admired, on a unique recording of Rosé at Abbey Road. This exclusive string version captures the mood and spirit of the Burberry Body campaign perfectly.”

We can’t wait to hear the finished track, and who knows, Burberry could have a number 1 hit on their hands.

Prestigious brand, Yves Saint Laurent have declared their love for the English beauty and have snapped her up to be the face and ambassador of their iconic ‘Opium’ fragrance. The television campaign, shot by Romain Gavras, features Emily coming face to face with a leopard and will debut in October. The campaign will also be accompanied by print images, shot by Patrick Demarchelier.

Emily is said to be ‘honoured’ about the collaboration with YSL. “It is a really exciting experience to embody this legendary fragrance, which has stood the test of time,” she shared. “Being a part of this new campaign and being able to tell the story of this very evocative fragrance is a real thrill.”

In a statement following the news, YSL president Renaud de Lesquen said: “She quite obviously embodies who we feel to be today’s Opium woman,” and we certainly agree as we can’t get enough of the lovely Emily Blunt and think she is the perfect person for the new campaign.
