With the intro to the book written by Jimmy Choo founder and OBE Tamara Mellon and the foreword written by fashion Journalist Colin McDowell, you know this is a must-have publication. The book chronicles the Jimmy Choo journey via 15 of the brand’s most iconic shoe designs. Readers can also see gorgeous editorials, shot by world-renowned photographers such as Mario Testino and Terry Richardson, along with ‘papped’ photos of celebrities wearing the iconic brand.

Original sketches, behind-the-scenes images and a look back at the brand’s most memorable advertising campaigns also make up a good chunk of the book, while eight chapters are taken up by ‘the power of the stiletto’ and use of animal print. The book also recounts many memorable Jimmy Choo occasions, including the moment Carrie Bradshaw revealed that feather Jimmy Choo in Sex and the City.

‘Jimmy Choo XV’ will launch on 26th October in Jimmy Choo stores worldwide, priced at a slightly staggering £60, and will then be rolled out to nationwide booksellers in February 2012.

Rachel Bilson showcasing her first design

Rachel Bilson is one of my all-time favourite style crushes. I think she is understated, is very true to her own style rather than following trends, and always looks impossibly cute. So when I heard the news that she was creating her own shoe line, I was naturally overjoyed.

Teaming up with stylist Nicole Chavez and shoe-designer Steve Madden, Bilson is set to create the line for ShoeMint.com, which will offer members a monthly selection of shoes for $79.99 each. Although the site is launching in November, it seems Bilson is the perfect walking ad for the brand – she has already been spotted wearing a pair of her ultra-high, nude Mary Jane style heels.

She said of her latest venture; “I loved the idea of designing really cute shoes that are affordable and accessible… I have the opportunity to design not just the shoes, but the full experience for our customer.”

It’s not the first time she’s gone down the designing route – in 2008, she teamed up with DKNY to produce the fashion line Edie Rose, which was made up of monochrome pieces with flashes of yellow, all retailing under $100. It seems Bilson is intent on staying with the purse-friendly theme, and compared to other outrageously over-priced celebrity fashion lines, she’s a seasoned pro in knowing what her customer wants.

ShoeMint will be part of the members-only shopping site BeachMint, which already has other celebrity influences working their magic in other departments: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen design an exclusive T-shirt collection for StyleMint, Kate Bosworth for JewelMint and Jessica Simpson for BeautyMint.

The bad news? The site doesn’t currently ship to outside the US, so fingers crossed that BeachMint will eventually reach us Brits!

However, when we wrote about StylistPick a few months back, the service was just offering shoes, however they have now expanded. For those of you that don’t fancy a pair of shoes every month then you might want to opt for a handbag or a piece of jewellery instead, which is now also included in your monthly showroom.

They have recently launched their very own YouTube channel which features, interviews from the celebrity stylists, StylistPick shoots and much more and is starting to attract a large number of viewers.

As their product portfolio expands, I wonder if StylistPick will venture into the world of clothes using this unique online service? They certainly have the celebrity stylist at hand to offer them advice but I wonder whether it would be just as easy to position clothes as it is to shoes and accessories?

StylistPick seem to be a retailer which is setting themselves apart from anyone else. They want you to feel like a celebrity as you are transported to your own unique showroom every month so venturing into the market of clothing is definitely a hard one to adopt with the different styles and fit but it is certainly something that StylistPick can rise to the challenge!

The Small Steps Project aims to raise awareness and aid for children working on the world’s biggest landfills. The campaign is currently focusing on providing durable footwear for the children, to prevent injury while working on the landfill sites.

The shoes donated by the celebrities will be put up for auction for the cause and some of the worlds top shoe designers such as Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin and Louis Vuitton will also be playing a huge part in the event taking place at the Royal Society of Medicine on October 12th 2011.

The Small Steps Project was launched by former celebrity Journalist Amy Hanson after she visited Cambodia in 2008. “When I went to Cambodia, I witnessed huge landfills filled with our waste and excess packaging where the local children would look for scraps to sell in order to support their families. Ideally we want to raise enough money to get the children away from the rubbish dumps and into schools, but for now we’re focusing on providing durable boots to prevent the children from harming themselves with the shards of glass and sharp objects on the ground,” she told Vogue.co.uk.

Earlier in the year it was rumoured that Kanye would be attending London’s Central Saint Martin’s College as a fashion student. These rumours did turn out to be false but the rapper went on to design a range of silk scarves, inspired by his ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ album and following that, it was revealed that he would be releasing a Spring 2012 collection.

Now it has been revealed that Kanye is working on a women’s range of footwear with help from renowned shoe designer Guiseppe Zanotti.

Kanye already has footwear experience after collaborating with Louis Vuitton on a range of sneakers and has been quietly working away on a line of stiletto heels for the ladies that he loves so much.

Women’s Wear Daily revealed the news, quoting Zanotti as saying: “Kanye is always here in my factory. In the last three years, he has come here maybe every month and worked with the employees 10 to 12 hours a day,” said Zanotti, “[Kanye] loves learning about shoes, both the design and construction, and we’ve tried to design something together.”

American actress Emma Stone, who also appears in the film at Kayla, attended the premiere in a colour blocking Giambattista Valli outfit from the Fall 2011 collection. The look consisted of a gorgeous red cashmere sweater and contrasting pink peplum skirt which she teams with nude Christian Louboutin pumps and a bronze clutch bag.

We love Emma’s red carpet outfit for it’s vibrancy and boldness. It’s a quirky twist on the usual red carpet outfits and we think Emma pulls it off extremely well!

The Friends with Benefits movie sees female headhunter Jamie (Mila Kunis) recruit Dylan (Justin Timberlake) into a job in New York city, and of course the sparks fly but the pair decide not to be together officially, but remain as friends. Although not a major character in the movie, Emma Stone’s character Kayla does temporarily date Dylan before his move to the big apple.

Of course, over the weekend, all the glitz and glamour came to London, England where the most prestigious premiere took place at Trafalgar Square. With Harry Potter being a British legacy, it was a fitting tribute to the books, film and all of the actors who appeared at the Premiere.

Although we were excited to see all of the characters, it was Emma Watson that fashion lovers really wanted to get a glimpse of, and she certainly didn’t fail to impress. The petite actress appeared in a gorgeous grey Oscar de la Renta ball-gown with embroidered bodice and full tulle skirt from the designer’s Fall 2011 collection. She accessorised with jewellery from Boodles.

We think Emma looked absolutely breathtaking and feminine at the event and her pixie crop hair-style has really grown on everybody.

The entire occasion was an emotional event for Harry Potter fans around the world. The actors themselves took to the premiere stage to greet fans who had been camping for over a week. Each actor said a few words but it was Emma that really showed some emotion for the franchise as it brought tears to her eyes and was pictured weeping on a fellow actors shoulder.

Later on in the evening, Emma surprised crowds further with a cute Elie Saab couture at the after party. The fully embroidered dress was flirty and fun, with a boat neck-line and grosgrain belt. She paired the outfit with Giuseppe Zanotti satin peep-toe heels.

After such an exciting occasion, it was only right that the US premiere in New York was just as big of an affair as the UK. Again, Emma Watson did not disappoint with her choice of outfit. This time, however, she opted for a more dramatic look with a Bottega Veneta gown with linen bustier and full amber-gold skirt. She kept her eye make-up dark, with a hint of gold glitter and wore her hair in a slicked back style.

She paired the outfit with Giuseppe Zanotti brown peep-toe heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.

We love the contrast between Emma’s UK and US premiere styles and both suit her brilliantly. Her pixie crop style really allows her to pull off any look and be a little more daring.

We’d be surprised if she pulls anything out of the fashion bag that’s brighter than the purple Issa dress she wore recently at the concert in Ottawa. She recently went for a regal shade of Blue when she took part in a Morning Prayer Service on board HMCS Montreal. Kate looked stunning in a royal blue Pre-Fall 2011 ‘Jacquenta’ dress for the occasion, which she teamed with her favourite LK Bennett Nude pumps and nude clutch. The gorgeous blue dress flatter’s Kate’s slim figure brilliantly with it’s small side split, 3/4 length sleeves and lace and floral embroidered bodice. Kate accessorised the dress with gorgeous stud earrings that matched her engagement ring.

The service lasted around 45 minutes during which prayers were said for the Queen and the new Royal couple as well as members of the armed forces. Kate and William also sang along to French hym “Je Louerai L’Eternel (Praise, I Will Praise You Lord).”
