CuteCircuit Reveals the Cell Phone Little Black Dress

Hundreds of new mobile phones are popping up in stores everyday but fashion company CuteCircuit have devised one that is bound to get heads turning. The Little Black Dress that doubles as a mobile phone.

The M-Dress is a dark, richly textured, form-fitting silk jersey dress that you pop your sim-card into the label and it allows you to receive, and even make, phone calls directly from your dress.

It was designed after the company realised the huge number of calls that are missed whilst fishing around our bags for our phones when they are ringing.

Coming to stores in 2011 the garment and works via an antenna that is stitched into the hem at the bottom of the dress. It has ‘gesture recognition software’, which means that simple actions like lifting your hand to your head can answer an incoming call and dropping your arm ends it – let’s just hope the call isn’t too long as our arms might start to ache!

One of the restrictions this dress has is it can only dial a few pre-entered numbers, but you can set each contact with its own ringtone – making you a walking jukebox of sorts.

All we need now is one that can either SMS or we can Facebook on and the world really will be at our fingertips!

Alexander McQueen’s final creation

When news of Alexander McQueen’s death hit the news, the fashion world really and truly changed forever. His last ever collection for Autumn/Winter 2010 was a bittersweet show for those in attendance and the 16 outfits that were shown, were a true testament to the designer.

It was recently revealed that there is one last surprise from the designer. A gracious encore of true style and elegance in the form of Alexander’s last ever creation.

The dress was created for Alexander’s muse and best friend, Annabelle Neilson.

The dress was made by Alexander himself, for Neilson, who recently wore it to Elton John’s White Tie & Tiara ball. The gorgeous creation is made from luxurious silk and includes silver feathers around the neckline. The dress continues the angelic theme that was seen throughout the A/W collection.

The dress will continue Alexander McQueen’s legacy for many years to come.

Kate Moss Autumn/Winter Essentials Collection

Kate Moss has become a Topshop staple, regularly launching new collections to fit with each and every season and this Autumn/Winter 2010, she has launced a collection of essentials that every girl needs in her wardrobe.

The collection is simple and luxurious and combines a mix of vests, tees and dresses made from the same fine jersey material that has been used in previous collections. We’ll see a flurry of greens, greys and beige. It’s all about mixing comfort with style and Kate’s inspiration comes from her lack of shapes and colours in her own wardrobe.

The Boyfriend Tee is a key piece in the collection. The tee is available in stone and washed black and Kate has added ruched shoulders for a more dramatic feel. You’ll also find camel is a heavy colour in Autumn/Winter trends this year and of course, it’s included within the collection. Jersey tees and long sleeve t-shirt dresses come in camel and are suitable not only for Autumn/Winter but also for the Spring and Summer months.

Flying back into trend: The Aviator Jacket

The military jacket has fallen out of line and the leather jackets have rode off into the sunset. Now, the highstreet stores and the fashion magazines are currently buzzing with a warm, winter coat that is going to be a huge trend this year. This huge trend is the Aviator Jacket which has been redeveloped and redesigned from the original flight/flying jacket, a statement jacket worn by airforce pilots in the 1940s and onwards.

The flight jacket was worn by pilots, simply to keep warm, and the sheepskin and leather materials certainly helped towards this, which is why they are perfect for our bitter British winters.

The Aviator jacket has been seen on the likes of Burberry and DKNY’s catwalk shows and thankfully, the highstreet stores are slowly filling up with the latest trend. The jackets are a great alternative to the leather rock chick jacket as their furry lining makes them all the more cosy. They are made all the more cheerful with their sheepskin and beige colours and are bound to lift spirits in the pouring rain.

All of our favourite highstreet stores are stocking the current trends, including the ever fashionable supermarkets such as Tesco. Team with a day time or night time dress or with skinny jeans and boots.

Topshop are stocking a 100% Sheepskin Flying Jacket for a costly £325, while ASOS have a more purse friendly Leather Aviator Jacket With Detachable Faux Fur Collar for £120. Cheaper highstreet stores such as Matalan are stocking the jacket for a mere £30, while M&S stock a sophisticated, dark brown jacket for £85.

The trend is going to grow and grow, with aviator style gilets being popular the following spring/summer 2011.

Every girl loves Marc Jacobs, it’s like we are born with a gene attracting us to the brand. That’s why we can’t even begin to explain to you how excited we were to hear that the designer is releasing a new watch collection for the coming Autumn/Winter 2010 fashion season.

All the designs are mega quirky and include the to-die-for House of Cards inspired design. This year Marc has swayed from the usual silver and gold manish designs and instead gone for cute chain version and some of the best face designs we have seen in a long time.

Not available in shops quite yet, may we suggest start saving your pennies now so you will be just in time to get your hands on one. That was bad yes…….

Victoria Beckham to launch range of handbags

Our very own 21st century British style icon, Victoria Beckham has done it all. She’s had a glittering pop star career with her Spice Girl buddies, an extremely high profile marriage and family life as well launching her hugely successful fashion label which recieved mountains of praise; and as if that wasn’t enough, now she is set to launch her very own range of handbags.

Rumours of the collection were leaked last year but a source recently revealed that the range is definitely on the cards. The collection, which is still in the very early stages of development, see’s Victoria put her flare and design skills up against the technical expertise of accessories designer Katie Hillier who has become a renowned designer, having previously joined forces with Marc Jacobs.

The range is set to launch later on this year and will be eagerly anticipated by handbag lovers the world over. We don’t think this will be the latest we’ve heard from Victoria and her designer alter-ego.

Kate Moss to appear on cover of British Vogue’s September Issue

We’ve all seen the now famous film about the prestigious and established Vogue magazine’s most important issue of the year. It is no different for the British version of the famous magazine as their September Issue is the biggest and the best issue of the entire year, packed with the latest fashions, photoshoots and much more.

A fashion icon in herself, Kate Moss graces the cover of British Vogue this September. The issue’s theme celebrates everything that is minimalist chic and it’s an extra special occasion as this is the 30th time that Kate has appeared on the front of the magazine. Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, Kate sports a navy military trench jacket and black platform boots to tie in with the minimalist theme.

Taylor Momsen launches Material Girl collection at Macys

We recently revealed that actress, singer and all round fashionista Taylor Momsen is the new face of Madonna’s Material Girl clothing range, and just yesterday the star was at the famous fashion store, Macy’s, to officially launch the range.

The range is all about letting your inner rock chick finally get out and Taylor was the perfect choice for the face of the range. She turned up at the launch dressed head to toe in her signature rock chick style of black leather jacket, cropped top, jeans and studded ankle boots. She performed a few tracks alongside her band The Pretty Reckless.

The range itself which was on display in the store, includes eighties inspired skirts, slashed material, crop tops and fishnet tights.

New York is the place for everything glamorous, and there is nowhere more glamorous than a film premiere. Appearing with her co-stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes strutted down the Black and Yellow carpet sporting one of the latest designs from Oscar de la Renta’s Resort 2011 collection.

The slighty off-champagne coloured outfit comes complete with an over the top full skirt and statement bow which is rumoured to be completely detatchable for a more sophisticated, pencil dress outfit. Eva teamed the outfit with diamond jewelery and black peep-toe Sergio Rossi slingback heels.
