Queueing overnight, shoppers were keen to get their hands on the prestigious label and the very lucky first 20 people in line received a $100 vouchers.

Topshop creative director Kate Phelan was a part of the event, on hand to explain why the ‘London Look’ was being so well received down-under. She said: “That creative layering, it’s very street style and that’s something London does well. It’s the way that musicians dress and music is a very big influence on British fashion. Unlike the French, we don’t have that history of heritage labels so we turn to music.”

The 1600 sq metre store, situated in Melbourne’s main shopping district, Chapel Street, will stock mainline Topshop and Topman collections as well as the Boutique division and their collaborations with London Fashion Week designers.

It’s rumoured that Sydney are next in line for Topshop’s world-wide expansion plans!

Recently, a red crocodile diamond encrusted Hermès bag, officially titled the ‘Hermès Exceptional Collection Shiny Rouge H Porosus Crocodile 30cm Birkin Bag with Solid 18K White Gold & Diamond Hardware,’ went up for auction at Heritage Auctions house in Dallax, Texas.

The bag was sold to an anonymous collector for an absolutely staggering £129,865 ($203,150). Matt Rubinger, director of luxury accessories at Heritage Auctions, said of the record breaking sale: “This is an extraordinary example of one of the world’s most exceptional handbags, and this was certainly an exceptional price, exceeding our highest expectations at every corner.”

Three other Hermès Birkin bags went on sale alongside the diamond encrusted one, and they also went on to break auction records. The ‘Matte Brighton Blue Porosus Crocodile Birkin Bag with Palladium Hardware’ sold for £72,568 ($113,525), while the ‘Shiny Braise Red Porosus Crocodile Birkin Bag with Palladium Hardware’ Birkin bag sold for £61,111 ($95,600) and the ‘Ultra Rare Himalayan Crocodile Birkin Bag with Palladium Hardware’ racked up a total sale price of £39,064 ($80,663).

We wonder who the anonymous bidder was and with Christmas coming up, could somebody be getting an extra special present this year?

Barney’s is one of the worlds most iconic department stores and they’re kicking off their exciting countdown to Christmas by allowing eccentric singer, Lady Gaga, to completely take over the fifth floor of their Madison Avenue flagship store. The entire floor has been transformed into a Lady Gaga wonderland, complete with gifts chosen by the lady herself, with a little help from the creative team.

Gaga, Nicola Formichetti and installation artists Eli Sudbrack have been working on the wonderland for a year, meaning they’ve had plenty of time to put together some completely weird and wonderful gift ideas, including Gaga-esque bow headbands, embellished chocolate skulls, Gaga snow globes and even a Christmas stocking in the shape of a claw.

Also on the floor is a jewellery boutique created from an oversized Lady Gaga-turned-spider and a boudoir in the shape of a wig. 25% of sales from the alternative Christmas gifts will be donated to the Born This Way Foundation. Those who can’t make it to the department store can get a little taste of a Gaga Christmas online as the Barney’s website is now offering a Gaga Gift every day in the days leading up to the launch on November 21st.

This year she returned to the show and blew all of the other models out of the water thanks to a $2.5m diamond studded bra. She showed off three different ‘Angel’ looks through-out the show, including a purple eccentric ensemble and a Christmas inspired red and white lace set, but it was her finale outfit that really caused a stir as she paraded down the catwalk in the $2.5million Fantasy Treasure bra, covered in yellow diamonds and pearls and complete with peacock style ‘feather’ decorations.

The baby blue ‘outfit’ received a standing ovation from the crowd, which included Kerr’s husband Orlando Bloom.

Kerr was also joined on the runway by Adriana Lima, who admitted to living on a liquid diet prior to the show. The Brazilian supermodel was a tough rival for Kerr on the night as she stunned spectators in a ‘Wonder-Woman’ inspired look complete with cape, followed by a flamenco inspired look and for her grand finale she showcased a sheer bodysuit, complete with oversized wings.

Both of these lovely ladies were the talking points of the show, with Kerr rounding it off with a spectacular diamond encrusted finale. The Victoria’s Secret show is a huge talking point every year and this year will certainly be remembered as one of the best.

US Vogue launched a similar site earlier this year, but only Vogue staff are able to contribute. Italian Vogue’s new encyclopaedia allows absolutely anybody to contribute to the new database which covers all areas of fashion, however all submissions will be looked over by Vogue staff before publication. Editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani wrote on her personal blog: “We will try not to alter your pieces, but some will have to be modified and you have to accept that and not feel judged, just guided by someone who has more experience. You can always use [your articles] on a future résumé to become journalists, if that is what you aspire to.”

So not only are fashion lovers able to get their daily fix, but aspiring Journalists can also use the site to help build up their CV/Resume. It looks like this could be the start of a new Online fashion trend as we’re expecting many other magazines and competitors to follow suit and launch their own fashion databases, but don’t forget that Italian Vogue were there first!

It may have taken five years of careful research and deliberation, but finally, the range was made available from September this year exclusively in London’s Selfridges and Topman’s Oxford Circus store, but it has now been made available nationwide, from October 10th. Moss entered the party as the clock struck midnight and was accompanied by shoe designer and good friend, Christian Louboutin. The Ritz was transformed into a Medieval castle, complete with stuffed animals, candles and skeletons.

Wearing a shimmering Gold tunic and black leggings, with Louboutin Pigalle heels, Moss was joined by a flurry of big names, including Joséphine de La Baume, Ludivine Sagnier and Lou Doillon.

Kate’s jewellery collection features necklaces, rings and earrings in moon, star and anchor motifs, based on her own tattoos. The collection will be sold through Harrods in the UK with prices starting from £400 and reaching a staggering £40,000.

Online auction website, eBay.com, have always done their bit for good causes and now they’re teaming up with The Black Eyed Peas front-woman, Fergie, as well as a whole host of other celebs, for their Eigth annual ‘Make it Pink’ fundraiser.

Hosted by eBay’s charitable organisation, ‘eBay Giving Works’, the fundraiser will see shoppers be given the chance to bid on items donated by celebrities including Christian Louboutin black suede lace-up boots and a Marc Jacobs navy blue satin dress worn by Fergie. Other items include a New Year’s Eve VIP experience with Ryan Seacrest in New York City amongst many others.

Talking about the cause, singer Fergie recently said in a statement: “Pink means something to many of us. You may have been touched by breast cancer. I have, since both my mother and father are cancer survivors and I lost my grandmother to cancer three years ago. As a global ambassador for the Avon Foundation for Women, I am asking you to help make a difference for women, men and their families in the fight against breast cancer.”
