Designer Jean Paul Gaultier decided to take Amy Winehouse’s signature style, slightly alter it here and there and send it down the runway in a tribute to the singer. The Spring/Summer 2012 Couture collection featured Amy’s signature polo shirt style, cut up and sexed up for the catwalk, and teamed with pencil skirts, heels and the signature beehive. The polo shirts featured low-cut necklines and a ‘G’ symbol in place of the usual Fred Perry logo.

As well as the beehives, all of the models displayed Amy’s signature eye-make up look in the form of heavy eyeliner as well as her beauty spot above the top lip.

For the show’s finale, models took to the runway wearing black veils, walking alongside four males performing doo-wop versions of Winehouse’s biggest hits.

We absolutely loved the Couture collection and think it’s a great way to pay tribute to the late great Amy Winehouse.

A few of you lucky ladies (and gents!) may have gone to see Kate Middleton’s wedding dress when it was on show at Buckingham Palace. Well, imagine the worldwide hysteria that will ensue when a handful of Diana’s most famous dresses will be available for viewing in the new year. Diana was as well known for her wardrobe choices as her charity work, and even 14 years on from her death, the publicity surrounding the princess continues.

The show, simply named ‘Diana’, will be a collection of designer dresses worn by the nation’s Royal sweetheart at Kensington Palace. The exhibition will coincide with the completion of a £12 million revamp, which has seen the Royal Gardens being redeveloped for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Five dresses will be showcased, including three which haven’t been seen in public since she wore them in the 1980s.

Keen fans of Diana’s style will recognise the black, off-the-shoulder taffeta gown worn by the princess at her first official engagement, placing her on the fashion map of that time at only 19 years old. It has recently been compared to the strapless dress Kate Middleton wore at the Sun’s Military Awards this week, with both pieces featuring similar embellishments and sweetheart necklines. The Elizabeth and David Emmanuel dress has never been displayed in the UK before, although it did sell for an astonishing £192,000 last year at an auction. The designers went on to create Diana’s world famous wedding dress a few months later.

Other dresses that can be viewed include a famous Bellville Sassoon monochrome cocktail dress, a Versace LBD and gowns by Catherine Walker – all pieces that cemented her fashion-forward status and feature in much-publicised events from her life.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been able to have a glance into Diana’s wardrobe… Her wedding dress is currently on display until 3rd January at the Enchanted Palace exhibition at Kensington Palace, in which viewers can gain an insight on the seven princesses that lived there. This new ‘Diana’ collection along with the revamp is expected to bring in over 100,000 extra visitors a year.

Deirdre Murphy, the curator, has said of the venue: “As the princess’ former home, Kensington Palace is an ideal setting to showcase these gowns – the atmosphere of the display will be truly magical.”

The show will be presented against a set created by interior designer Finola Inger and opens 26th March.

Despite most children not having a bank account or any income, Versace have gone ahead and opened an entire boutique for their young fashion fans.

The boutique is decked out in refreshing lilac and white shades, with super sized candy canes as decoration to give it a ‘Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory’ feel. The boutique, which takes up one floor, stocks the Young Versace line which launched last June at the Pitti Immagine Bimbo exhibition. The boutique also stocks Swarovski Crystal and Leopard Print baby bottles as well as pretty dresses and smart suits for children.

Could high fashion for children be the next big craze? A whole host of designers, including Dolce & Gabbana and Burberry, have already launched children’s ranges and the likes of Victoria Beckham and Gwen Stefani are also busy creating children’s clothing collections, meaning 2012 could see a flurry of extremely well dressed kids.

Now, for working full time hours, you’d expect them to receive the same benefits as many of the company’s staff, but unfortunately interns are very rarely paid and often exploited, being asked to do tasks that nobody else will do and working excessive hours.

Recently, there has been a huge surge in support for Interns and ‘workies’ thanks to the likes of Intern Aware and the NUS organisations; and now the HM Revenue & Customs have deemed it neccessary to get involved.

It has been revealed that 100 British fashion houses have been warned by HM Revenue & Customs ahead of February’s London Fashion Week 2012. HMRC have said that they have received evidence of well known fashion labels exploiting interns and not paying them national minimum wage for their work.

Letters have been sent to the fashion houses, Michelle Wyer, HMRC’s assistant director for the NMW (national minimum wage) said: “These letters give fashion houses plenty of warning that they are under scrutiny. If they are not playing by the rules, now is the time to put things right. Non-payment of the national minimum wage is not an option. Our message is clear: don’t wait for us to come knocking on your door; put things right now and avoid a penalty and possible prosecution.”

The likes of Emma Watson and Chloe Moretz are just two celebrities who have been spotted on the Red Carpet in McQ’s tartan dress creation from the Autumn/Winter 2011 collection.

Due to it’s success McQ has announced that it will be opening it’s first ever store in London’s West End in Spring 2012. Situated on Dover Street, Mayfair, the four-storey store will join upmarket boutiques such as ACNE. And as if that wasn’t enough, they’ve also announced that they will be showcasing their first ever catwalk at London Fashion Week in February 2012, which will be an exclusive preview to the store opening.

It’s exciting times for the fashion and purse savvy label which launched in 2006 as they’ve gone from strength to strength. Compared to the grown-up Alexander McQueen line, McQ is much more affordable with prices starting from within the hundreds instead of the thousands.

February 2012 is going to be an exciting time for the designer as she will be getting ready to hold a ‘special fashion presentation’ at London Fashion Week 2012. On February 18th, a ‘one-off’ Stella McCartney collection will be shown on the runway, which coincides with the ‘World of Stella’ exhibition at Selfridges Department Store as well as the launch of a new fragrance and the opening of the second Stella McCartney store.

For years, McCartney has showcased at Paris Fashion Week, but this could be the start of something special between the designer and her birth city. With the 2012 Olympics taking place in London, we’re sure the collection will incorporate something Olympics related seeing as McCartney has been commissioned by Adidas to be the creative director of Team GB’s official kit.

We really can’t wait for LFW to come around again and we’re hugely excited for Stella McCartney’s debut and collection. We can’t wait to see what trends she’s about to set!

Of course, we were most interested in what every one was wearing, Kristen in particular, who both impressed and shocked fashion fans when she appeared at the premiere in a pair of trainers with her glamorous dress, before changing into a pair of heels.

Kristen certainly impressed with her dresses on the nights of the premieres. At the LA Premiere she wowed onlookers in a gorgeous iris and black sequin column dress from the Spring 2012 collection by J.Mendel, who is rumoured to be one of her favourite designers. The dress included a thigh-high split which was quite daring for Stewart who is most comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt. She wore her hair in a sophisticated up-do and accessorized with black chunky heels.

For the UK Premiere, Stewart kept colour to a minimum in a Roberto Cavalli Spring 2012 gown. The black embellished gown allowed Stewart to show off a little skin with it’s dipped neckline and she cleverly accessorized with a leather Alexander McQueen belt. She wore her hair in a sweeping style over one shoulder and wore Jimmy Choo peep toe heels.

Although all eyes were on Kristen Stewart, the rest of the Twilight girls were out in fashionable force. Nikki Reed certainly brightened things up at the LA premiere when she appeared in a mint, one-shouldered Marchesa Resort 2012 chiffon dress, with gold embroidered detailing. She wore her hair in soft curls and accessorized with a pair of Sutra drop earrings and Jimmy Choo Greta lamé-covered suede sandals.

Actress Ashley Greene also brought some colour to the US Premiere in a beautiful red lace Donna Karen dress. As the face of DK, it was obviously her first choice of dress for the occasion and her wavy locks complimented the colour perfectly. The dress included gorgeous spiralling chiffon strips which gave it a real feminine feel.

The main three characters, Kristen, Robert and Taylor were the only stars in attendance at the UK premiere while the rest of the cast members showed up at a New York screening of the film. Of course, we can’t leave out Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner who both wore grey Emporio Armani suits. Lautner opted for the black tie on white shirt combo while Pattinson decided on a dark grey shirt.

It’s a momentous occasion in fashion history as exclusive designer label, Versace, has teamed up with Highstreet giant, H&M for an exciting new collaboration. To celebrate the joining of these two fashion brands, a celeb filled event took place in New York City.

Taking place at a specially designed building on the Hudson River, celebs such as Uma Thurman, Blake Lively and Jessica Alba celebrated the launch of the new Versace for H&M collection with a special catwalk show. The event was all about the luxury of Versace, with the catwalk paved in gold and decorated with special iconic pieces, worn on the catwalk by top models such as Abbey Lee, Daphne G, Natasha Poly, Sean O’pry and Lindsay Wixson. The catwalk show was then followed by a terribly exclusive after party, with special guests Prince and Nicki Minaj.

Talking about the event and the new collection launch, Donatella Versace said: “It was the perfect evening, so glamorous and special. I loved celebrating the launch of Versace for H&M here in New York, an iconic city in which to showcase this iconic collection. Now I cannot wait for it to finally reach stores and be available to the world.”

The celebs in attendance at the event were equally as pleased with the collection. “I think it is so exciting for Versace to made available to everyone. The collection is cool, colourful, young and very hip. I can’t wait to see the show,” said Uma Therman.

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively also said: “I am such a fan of Versace. The fits for a woman’s body are incredible. I’m also a huge fan of H&M. To have Versace at H&M is the best.”

Barney’s is one of the worlds most iconic department stores and they’re kicking off their exciting countdown to Christmas by allowing eccentric singer, Lady Gaga, to completely take over the fifth floor of their Madison Avenue flagship store. The entire floor has been transformed into a Lady Gaga wonderland, complete with gifts chosen by the lady herself, with a little help from the creative team.

Gaga, Nicola Formichetti and installation artists Eli Sudbrack have been working on the wonderland for a year, meaning they’ve had plenty of time to put together some completely weird and wonderful gift ideas, including Gaga-esque bow headbands, embellished chocolate skulls, Gaga snow globes and even a Christmas stocking in the shape of a claw.

Also on the floor is a jewellery boutique created from an oversized Lady Gaga-turned-spider and a boudoir in the shape of a wig. 25% of sales from the alternative Christmas gifts will be donated to the Born This Way Foundation. Those who can’t make it to the department store can get a little taste of a Gaga Christmas online as the Barney’s website is now offering a Gaga Gift every day in the days leading up to the launch on November 21st.
