Amy’s look was one of a kind, which is why her simply polka dot dress, worn by her on the front cover of the Back to Black album, is set to be sold at auction. The white strapless dress was designed by Central Saint Martins graduate Disaya Sorakraikitikul and was leant to the singer in 2006. Stylist Louise Winwood teamed the dress with a thick red leather belt and leopard print heels for the photoshoot, shot by photographer Mischa Richter.

An estimate of £10,000 to £20,000 has been put on the dress and proceeds from the sale will, taking place on November 29th, will be donated to Amy Winehouse Foundation, established by the singer’s parents shortly after her death. The dress itself was donated by Disaya as she wanted to help raise funds for the foundation.

Auctioneer Kerry Taylor, who will sell the dress, said: “What makes this particular dress so special is that it is an emblematic reminder of the magic voice and sublime talent of Amy Winehouse, a sound that resonates with an entire generation.”

It is truly an iconic dress, with lots of history and memories of the fabulous singer. It is a great piece of memorabilia for any fan who is able to afford it and with proceeds going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, it’s all for a great cause.

Online auction website, eBay.com, have always done their bit for good causes and now they’re teaming up with The Black Eyed Peas front-woman, Fergie, as well as a whole host of other celebs, for their Eigth annual ‘Make it Pink’ fundraiser.

Hosted by eBay’s charitable organisation, ‘eBay Giving Works’, the fundraiser will see shoppers be given the chance to bid on items donated by celebrities including Christian Louboutin black suede lace-up boots and a Marc Jacobs navy blue satin dress worn by Fergie. Other items include a New Year’s Eve VIP experience with Ryan Seacrest in New York City amongst many others.

Talking about the cause, singer Fergie recently said in a statement: “Pink means something to many of us. You may have been touched by breast cancer. I have, since both my mother and father are cancer survivors and I lost my grandmother to cancer three years ago. As a global ambassador for the Avon Foundation for Women, I am asking you to help make a difference for women, men and their families in the fight against breast cancer.”

If, unfortunately you’re wallet just doesn’t allow you to purchase such quality items, you can still do your bit for the cause by purchasing some of the pink branded goods which are available on eBay now. Users of the website can also donate their chosen via Paypal or donate a percentage of your item sales.

Shoppers can also visit eBay’s Facebook page through out Breast Cancer Awareness Month and share photos and stories explaining why breast cancer awareness is important to them and for every story shared, the auction site will donate one dollar to a non-profit organisation.

One of my best friends is getting married in the next couple of weeks, so it is important that I feel comfortable and also look great for her wedding day.  I am pretty sure I will be running errands for her so comfortable footwear is exceptionally important.
